7 ~ West ~ Creativity & Children

The creativity in its most pure form is the province of children, and in the world of feng shui, they are blended together in the West area of the Ba-Gua – or the right side of a structure as one looks in from the doorway. This area is ruled by the Metal element. If something which represents the Fire element is existent in this space, Water must be used to mitigate the danger. A fountain would be appropriate. An art piece depicting a lake is will be perfectly situated in this area. Although the ruling animal of this area is a Tiger, many feng shui theorists believe depictions of wild animals are best kept outside of a domestic dwelling. Silver, white and grey are the best colors for this area, and it is a good place for Earth themed objects.
